Circuit Breaker in starting circuit?

I'm stumped. Apparently it doesn't take much.

Sunday I played with some electronics:
Main power window relay- jumpered power supply to output to driver's door to regain functionality of driver's window. Functionality returned until Monday morning after driving ~30 miles
Installed a radio- all new connections appear well insulated

Monday morning truck started and window worked at the beginning of the trip. Once at work the window would not raise. At the end of the day the truck would not start. Here are the symptoms:

Key at ACC results in clock and radio lighting, and gauges beginning to activate. Once turned to start everything goes dark (but guages flinch and dome light stays on). After the first attempt, further attemtps turning the key don't even result in the clock and radio receiving Acc power.

This afternoon I brought tools to investigate. The first attempt was just like yesterday's first attempt and subsequent attempts resulted in no power, even at ACC. The jumper that I thought might have caused the short was not to blame. It was sitting harmelessly above the connector, not causing a short. I removed it before attempting to start today.

Here's what I have tested today:
Fuses by driver's feet-
all tested w/ no resistance and looked good
Two Circuit breakers by driver's feet- no resistance
Fuses by battery- all three appear good, and test w/ no resistance
fuse box side of main fuse (as opposed to battery side) has power even whn key causes no accessories to receive power.

It's been about an hour, so I'm on the way out to see if it'll light up the clock again.

Is there a circuit breaker in the starting system? I can't figure out why power would restore over night to the accessories without one. I would check the voltage drop under attempted starting conditions, but the key doesn't appear to hit the starter after the first attempt...

Any thoughts/help?

theres a main battery fuseable link and a starter fusable link check them two

since we know you have a voltometer try checking to see if you have 12 volts at the starter main and the starter switch with the key

I've checked the 4 regular fuses at the battery, and the 3 larger "fuseable links." All look good, and test with no resistance across their terminals. There is also a relay, but I'm uncertain what it is related to...

Does this mean anything helpful?

Measuring voltage at the EFI fuse under the dash on the driver's side in three key positions:
Off- 5.5V
Acc- 4.3V
On- 1.4V

That just doesn't seem right. The battery shows nearly 13V from negative cable connector to positive cable connector.

As many of you will guess, it was a bad connection at the Negative Battery terminal.

I should have gone with my gut that it was unrelated to the work I had recently done, but new problems tend to be related to new "fixes."
