Exclamation check engine light after batt intake swap

I Finally swapped the battery and intake last night and changed to a cone filter. After I was done I started it up and the beast shut down about 20 seconds later, rechecked everything and tried again. This time I took it for a test drive and my results are check engine light, creeping, sputtering, and sounds like a slight backfire out of the afm.
The only thing I can think of since its so close to the intake now that i need to move the internals of the afm a tooth. But in all the write up about this swap it says nothing about a check engine light or havingto mess with the afm internals.

i'm just gonna go down the list here:

-is this a 22r-e?
-is the afm pointing the right way?
-did you cut and splice any wiring?
-did you re-connect all the vacuum lines?
-did you move any of the spark plug wires?
-did you get the check-engine code?

yeah, it's not too bad if you have all the stuff beforehand

all right, 2 things:
1) re-trace your splices, and make sure all the wires are correct. i've messed wiring up before, and it brings teh suck
2) do you have a check-engine light right now? if so, do this (p 170-172):
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...85diagnosi.pdf
using a paper-clip or short wire to short terminals 'TE1' and 'E1'

make sure the o2 sensor plug/s is/are clean. i had mine short out in a rain storm once.

also try pulling the efi fuse for a good minute or two, then plug it back in. sometimes that'll clear any codes that might have been tripped while moving wiring around

i live in maryland and have a california-emissions truck. just check to make sure, and definitely pull out the efi fuse for a bit

Yup 2 wires were wrong I ran out of one of the colors so they were the same color and after I triple checked them, kicked the hell out of the tire, threw the old air box across the yard. I walked back out to the truck 3 hrs later and was like "Damn these two wires are wrong".

side note- I noticed the little boost in power almost instantaneous.
