Cheap way to lift rear end!

My truck keeps hitting the back tires and its messing them up. Every time I put something in the bed it hits worse on hard bumps.

What is a cheap way to lift the rear.

Do NOT say blocks because that would not be a solution.

I was thinking either shackles, add-a-leaf, or maybe new springs.

Thanks, Trevor

I recommend the Downey leafpacks with the prerunner add a leaf as an overload. They are reasonably priced, ride well and flex ok too.

Measure your shackles and cross check against this page to see if any of them will fit.

Cheapest is to add additional leafs from the scrap yard. Will have to get a center pin I always use a bolt and round the head to fit into the axle perches.

Search for the spring deminsions and take a tape measure with you to the scrap yard, they don't have to be toy springs and you may find some lift springs.

Have you gone to spring over yet?

Flip kit is pretty damn cheap.

The solution to your problem is actually bumpstops though.

They look very similar to the 4wd ones. I will have to get a ruler out and check.

Thanks for the help!

If I go spring over axle then I will have to lift the front too! It don't want a huge rake.

Well i would definitely have to say go all out and get the 63" chevies like i did for my 2WD. They are sick and the ride is sooo much better with them. Also the Axle is still over the leaf springs.

Before the Chevies

After WITH the Chevies

tc hit the nail on the head.
Bumpstops are your real problem if you are bottoming out.

That's a cheap fix.

If you're going to do something to the suspension just get a new set of leafs - you will not spend $1k on a set of leafs, I promise.

I don't have bump stops anymore. I took them off when I temporarily lowered my truck... I have 27" swampers on my truck and now they rub the wheel well in the back. Because its too low. I just need to lift it back to where it was when I first got it...because i removed some coils.

So what is your current rear suspension setup?
Pics would help.
