CEL reset: battery vs EFI fuse

So I'm messing around with my engine trying to get rid of a few CEL codes. I've been checking connections and pulling the EFI fuse. No change. I tried a few other things, and then disconnected both terminals on the battery. The CEL went away and there were no more codes. But I have a feeling the light will be back after a few miles of driving.

Whats the difference between resetting the light by pulling the fuse versus removing the battery terminals?

None really, other than you get to keep your radio and clock settings if you pull the fuse versus pulling the battery cables.

Are you sure you're pulling the right fuse?

Are you taking it out for at least 30 seconds?

How can you take out the wrong fuse? The label for the fuse layout is on the top of the box. And I've taken it out for 30 second and as long as 5 minutes.

well, no CEL light yet after the drive to work

Why would resetting it through the battery change it?

Ok, just checking. Stranger things have happened.
