if I roll my truck, the last thing that I'm goingo to worry about bumping my head on is a CB radio
I'm not all too fond of the "overhead" mounts myself, but to each his own. I have seen some neat installs though, and the one I'd like to duplicate prividing I can find a unit small enough is mounting it in the pocket where the pull-out ash tray is; to me, that's wasted space, as I don't smoke, and there's nothing in there but a few pennys, and a spare 40amp fuse for my stereo amplifier I think

How hard is the wiring for this? I have always wanted to do one. Couldnt i just run a connection from the battery and call it good since it has a power switch on it?

I did my Galaxy 99 like that in my 90 4runner and it is twice the size of the ashtray size radio's gives good view of face so you can see the channel face and the rest of the controls then you can get a mic hanger and hang the mic from the rear view mirror for easy access to it as well.

You should go down to the truck stop in marysville to the radio shop there and get a nice used /repaired radio from them cheaper then even amazon then you can match a complete set up and see it together before you buy and how it will look and work together.
