Cat is poopin the bed need new exhaust

I have been trying to figure out why my 94 3.0 runner has been running like ลลลล and today when I got out and felt like flames were comin out from under the vehicle. I take a look and my cat is red hot.. The exhaust is falling apart already and I would just like to replace it, with a catback, custom, or whatever.. I already searched and didnt find what I was looking for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
thanx
jake

If the Cat is red hot you have an over fueling or misfire problem. Better get that figured out before you meltdown an expensive Cat.

anyone ever tried one of these eBay Cat's?

The price seems right, and their a straight through design, which is what I'm looking for. So, anyone?

I suspected that it was overfueling or misfiring but I am not entirely sure what I need to do to fix this. Any suggestions short of going to the dealership? THe exhaust has been smelling like gas and the tip of the exhaust is black, so I know there is a problem there just not sure how to go about chasing down the problem. thanx for any help

a bad o2 sensor can cause a rich situation, bad injectors, (I assume it is FI)

I found the turtle in my yard, after mowing over it and it was fine! Old toyota trucks are like turtles: slow, steady and durable.

Could possibly be the cold start injector sticking open, might check that also.
