Carbon build up

Carbon build up
Question for you motorheads. I have a 3.0 1989 with 53K miles. Low compression on the two center cylinders, does not run hot or leak coolant and was not included in the recall....I got this from Toyota, Vin # was too early. I used a scope and looked in the cylinder with 75 psi and found a big buildup of carbon between the valve and seat. After running the engine awhile 2nd compression check was 125 psi, then 3rd time was 85 psi. Cyls 1-2-5-6 all 185, 3-4 are 75 and 125 I poured some valve/injection cleaner in the tank wand will run it. Question, used to be able to break up carbon by trickling water into the carb. On a fuel injected engine it would have to be a vacuum hose but which one? Anyone tried this? Thanks for teh help, John

Use SeaFoam and use the big vaccuum line off of the side of the break booster. A lot of guys have done that to clean up the plenum and clean carbon off the top of the pistons and valves. Use 6oz. at a time and pour it slowly into the vaccuum line so you don't choke the motor out. Once you start blowing a lot of white smoke, shut it down and let it sit for a 1/2 hour, then start and blow it out at a high idle for 10 minutes or so, then do it again as needed.
