Car Cover for 4Runner, suggestions?

I'm moving next month and will be right on the water (Gulf Coast). I won't have a garage bay for the 4runner so I plan on getting a canvas/etc. cover for it. It is a 1991 with stock rear spare carrier and an ARB front bumper.

Any suggestions??

Yeah, don't do it. They can do more harm than good. They trap water under them if the vehicle is outside and unless the paint and the cover are completely clean the wind and taking it on and off will rub the dirt into the paint like sand paper.

Wax will be the best thing to do.

I bought a CoverKing a few years ago but I've yet to use it to be able to give any feedback. I needed a custom job to fit my lifted truck.

my paint is already bad. what i'm trying to accomplish is teh nefarious salt air from getting into every crevice of the body. The only rust I have right now is top of doors so I want to preserve the rest of the body/truck until we get into a place with 3 garage bays and I can put new doors and paint it.

as mt goat mentioned, it will actually hold in the moist salt air thus increasing the probability of corrosion.

If you are looking for long term storage there is a company that makes zip up bags for cars.

My dad has them for his Benz 560SL and Triumph TR6.

Its a GIANT plastic bag that you roll the car onto when its cold. Than you throw these GIANT silica gel containers inside the bag. Once that is done, zip up the bag and the car is sealed from mostiure.

They are pretty expensive..i think $200-300 depending on the size you need (4runner would be HUGE)
