cant get this 87 to run right!!!!!

So i have an 87 with a 22re that has been quite the project/nightmare. This thing sat for about 8 years. It ran fine and actually passed emissions right before was parked. I drove it home and started to find all the problems from sitting. Now lots of things have issues... heres what Ive done so far...

Valve Seals.. The original ones were stuck to valves and moved up and down with them

HeadGasket Head bolts (had to to do w/valve seals)

new exhaust manifold.... broke off bolts in old one so just got new one.

new timing chaincover. I discovered original guides had worn through for previous owner and wore through into water chamber. someone had actually aluminum welded it and re used the same damaged cover. I replaced. also found old guides in oil pan...... GRRRR.....

new gaskets everywhere.....

had injectors cleaned and balanced by Witch Hunter.

Tapped into fuel rail and installed fuel pressure gauge.

replaced fuel pressure regulator

checked all fuel lines for flow

new fuel filter

adjusted valve lash.

Replacved O2 sensor..... (did not use toyota o2 and think I should from what Ive read of the Bosch ones)

Replaced TPS

Adjusted TPS.

99% sure all vacuum lines are correct.

checked pretty much every sensor I could per the FSM.

MAIN PROBLEM RIGHT NOW:

First test my fuel pressure with jumper and it shots up to 20 psi and holds for quite a while in fact the next weekend it still was about 15 psi...... Get it started..... Barely..... and it did not run right but the fuel pressure did vary with rpm (vsv control). Gave up for that weekend and now today it wont start. Not holding pressure... jump it and it goes to 15 psi only and drops the moment you pull the jumper....

what may have caused this?

I did solder the fitting into the rear of fuel rail with the FPR in it and im afraid the heat may have damaged the diaphram? But it did work at first....

There are a few other problems im fighting but I cant get to those problems till I have proper fuel pressure again!!!! Any Ideas........

It sounds like you might have a bad fuel pump, and if the truck sat for eight years then the fuel pump is most likely the problem. The fuel presure should be in the mid 30`s (can`t remember the exact presure), not 57 psi, if that`s what your fsm says then its wrong.

Fuel pump.

Mine sat for years, the gas actually turned to tar.

Bet yours is plugged or burnt up.
