Can you adjust the clutch cable

So i realized this weekend after wheeling that i noticed that sometimes when my clutch pedal is pressed all the way in it seems like it still engages unless im press the hell out of it to get that extra 1/8 of an inch. I was at a stop with it in 1st and the clutch pressed in and i went to take it out of gear to get out of the truck and it felt like i took it out of gear while driving. It seems it only disengages at the last inch of the allowable push. I didnt really know how the clutch system worked on a 3.0 5spd on a 2nd gen 4runner. Its just weird cause lately in cold weather it will not going into gears when its in neutral . Is there a way to make it disengage sooner cause i would love that.

well its all hydraulic, no cables, it could be your slave cylinder or master cylinder causing some problems or maybe just the really cold weather. my buddy just had this problem with his truck and it was the slave cylinder.

bleed your clutch line and clean off your master and slave cylinder so they're really clean. If you still have a problem, look for leaks. Since you cleaned the cylinders the leaks will be easier to spot.

Just replace the slave cylinder, there like 15 bucks..
Takes a half hour with all the bleeding..
Just a rule of thumb though, If the slave goes the master probably isnt to far behind...

funny you say that I did the slzave cylinder on mine then just a few months later did the Master cluch cylunder. Mine had the same symptoms until I changed the Master. goodluck.

May as well replace them both while you have your hands dirty, then you only have to bleed once

^+1 ... If the slave is leaking around the piston, it's likely the master is worn too.
