Can my thermostat cause this problem?

So I just spent a ton of money on steering and suspension fixes and then this morning I start it up and it sounded like the fan was messed up and hitting something. I go to inspect and the thermostat is rattling and when I touch it I can feel something is rattling in there for sure. I drove it slowly for about a mile to see if anything changed and it suddenly lost power and then died going about 35mph.

Now when I start up there's no power even in first. I have a zero to 20 time of about 15 seconds

Any ideas??

Well now it won't even start at all. Just had the distributor replaced abd plugs and wires. The starter will crank but won't turn over. Couldn't pop the clutch either.

V6? Did it overheat at all?

Hmmmm, strange.

Have you checked the EFI fuse, just for the hell of it? Any chance in all the Steering/Suspension work you disconnected or damaged any wiring?

Yeah.. not sure why my sig line didn't post with all my stats - maybe because I was posting from the new YT mobile from my iphone.

Anyways.. The temp gauge never showed it overheating but it was pretty warm in there. Checked for all the signs of a blown HG but none so far luckily. I parked the truck where it was because I am busy today and had to use another vehicle.

All the suspension/steering work was done by a local shop.. could be though. I'll check all the fuses and everything this evening when I pick it up. The weird thing was that it slowly lost power and then just died. A fuse would just kill it straight up.

Yeah, it would, I know. Just that, since you mentioned "SOMEONE" did the work, ....and now this? Probably coincidence, and would NEVER suggest you overthink that. Just, well, I even blew up my alternator one time while poking around under one of my previous rigs.... i was in the middle of nowhere, and THANK GOD I made it back to Olancha, CA, ON THE BATTERY ALONE! hahaha Driving down the Death Valley Hwy with no headlights at 2am, ....yeah, that was really fun! lol.

Anyway, really sorry man, ...that SUX!

Since you have power and the starter works, I would, I think, start by checking the obvious.

Get the Multi Meter out and;

1. Fuel Pump Function(check for fuel if you can at the rail---not sure how that's done on the V6, but it has a Cold Start Injector, right?)
2. EFI components and sensors run-through?
3. Ignition Components check?(Not sure, but I seem to remember my buddy having an issue VERY similar to this, where his 3.0 just started, VERY QUICKLY, losing power, etc. Don't remember the 'thermostat rattling' being a part of it, ...but it ended up being his coil got a huge fracture in it or something like that.)

No codes, eh?

Your coolant and oil look ok, I figure, since you said "doesn't look like the HG"... right?
