Califonia (CARB) question

Rebuilt 3.0 with Doug headers, new EGR, new cat.(magniflow) new 02 sensor, new flowmaster muffler, 2 1/2" allthe way. In 89 4runner(Sweet!) and have 4 sale. A possible buyer from California and myself are wondering if this will pass thru Cal. Emissions?

These are the only CARB compliant cats sold by Magniflow that I could find:

https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=339884

https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=339004

Don't know if they have anymore.

A smog technician could fail you if the part # doesn't match a CARB legal one, but who knows if your tech will put that much effort into it.

Any CEL?

Edit*

This may help you in cross referencing CARB compliant aftermarket parts, but the database isn't complete.

If all of the exhaust components are CARB approved it should. Assuming that everything else is in good working order.

As someone who lives in Ca and just bought an out of state rig, I would recommend to you both( considering this is a sale/purchase you both would like to make) To write up a bill of sale which included any kind of agreement you both would be happy with in the event that it doesn't pass a smog check. (both visual; looking for CARB approved numbers, and sniffer test) For an example; The guy I bought my runner from out of Colorado wrote into our bill of sale that he would reimburse me up to $500 bucks on a new CAT if it didn't pass smog. (It had the Doug Thorely Headers/Magniflow CAT combo)

I took my truck, after obtaining a moving permit, to our local college where my friend just passed his smog technician certification and basically he got it to pass before I officially took it to test. That entailed ordering the proper CARB approved CAT for my make and model. Everything else was good to go, and it passed smog. And, I was so happy with my purchase that I never asked for the $500 bucks.

you will need all the E/O numbers or Executive order numbers from the carb certification. each cat has the E/O stamped on it if its aftermarket to be certified
