a/c woes - expansion valve?
Hey Guys,
I have been running without air here in SC for the past 2 years...this summer has finally gotten too hot and I decided to work on it. I evacuated the system, replaced the compressor and accumulator, pulled a vacuum on it and everything checked out so I recharged it. I then tested it to see if it was fixed...nope...wasnt cooling. There was no temperature difference between the high and low lines either where typically one is colder than the other. I have been doing some research and believe it could be the expansion valve. Does this sound typical of the expansion valve and most important Where is the expansion valve located?
thanks for your help!

If the expansion valve goes bad the a/c won`t get cold. the expansion valve is inside the evaperator box under the dash, so you have to pull the dash a part to get to the evaperator to replace the expansion valve.
