Bypassed Neutral safety switch... but what's the red wire?

My service manual does not show this red wire, just the two black ones.

This is the connector right above the starter. 3 wires, black, black/white stripe, red (blue twist?)

Can anyone tell me what the red wire is for?

Truck wouldn't start, NSS is toast. Yes, that's a 30a fuse folded over (tape went on next, it's weather- and splash-proof). It's getting a 5 speed soon, so I'm OK with the hack, esp with a new one running $180...
