Burnt injector?

I pulled my fuel injectors today so I can get them cleaned and tested. Found that one was a little burnt. Some of the plastic on the connector was melted. I've been getting random missfires and rough idle. I thought it was dirty injectors, but now I'm wondering if its a bad injector, or bad connector.

Having a hell of a time finding the connectors. Was at the junk yard the other day, and the Toyota's here are already cleaned out. The best I could fin so far is this one here

I'll try and post some picks after dinner

Thanks for the link. I'm in a bit of a hurry, since I'm taking a trip on friday. Even though the place you linked to is cheaper, they are also farther away. Its funny the place I found is on ebay, and its cheaper than their own website

I'm a little confused. I found one that looks just like the one I need in the picture, but it says low guides, which would be the wrong one

Hey did your's come with wire connected, pigtail? I think the wires are a little burnt, so I would prefer a pigtail, and just use a butt splice.

I had the option of a 4 or 6'' pig tail I think. Mine were for a older 22rte so I needed ev1 style connctors. They ended up being a upgrade that are less likely to break and easier to get on/off. The guy I talked to helped me determine which ones I needed and was very helpful. It sounds like he was an individual dealer and there are guys like him around the the country. The guy I talked to was in idaho which is somewhat close to oregon so I'm guessing he was the guy for my region. I had put the amount of money I thought I needed in my account for my debit card and was a couple bucks short for shipping and everything and he cut me a deal to make it work even though I told him I could run down to the bank and cover it. I had them in 3-5 days I think in the mail. Oh, and don't use butt connectors, solder them and use a good quality heat shrink over the soldered connection.

What happened with your fuel injector? Did you have to replace it?

Mine looks like it was burnt on the outside, so I don't think that it was a short in the injector.

The injector was fine. My truck would randomly drop a cylinder and later come back in. On the 88?-and older clips have a little wire clip you have to remove to take the plug off. #3 and #4 were missing those clips and about 1/4 of plug #4 was broke off and missing. #4 was randomly making the good connection some times, and not other times. So I replaced all of them with a updated plug that has thicker plastic, and a nice wire thing you just squeeze to unclip the plug.

That sound exactly like the problem that I've been having. Except I think there is also a problem with the fuel pressure, because I had to adjust my TPS for more fuel to make it run right. Probably just the fuel filter, which I just replaced. I think I'll still get my injectors cleaned since I got them out already.

Got the injectors back. No flow chart. Was just told that 2 were good and 2 were bad. They only charged me $40. I guess the guy figured there was much point in continuing after finding 2 bad injectors. I ordered a full set of 4 rebuilt from fiveomotorsports. Talked to the guy on the phone, and he told me that their rebuilds are high quality, low mileage, from a facility thats been doing this for 35 years, and they flow match really well.

The place I took my injectors to be cleaned and tested was Vacavalley autoparts in Fairfield, CA. I don't think I would recommend the place. First the guy starts telling me that he thinks that my problem is probably something else. Then he takes my number, but never calls to tell me they're done. I mean with 2 injectors bad I needed to order new ones, and could have gotten cheaper shipping had I know earlier. When I picked them up, the guy wasn't there, and there were no details. Just 2 bad 2 good.
