bugged up electricals

So I hooked an electrical fan up to a 12v relay that connected (when closed) ground on the fan to ground on the power steering pump mount (same mount as the alternator ground I believe?) and this worked fine for a few seconds of testing, then went to start and it turned over... but duh I had unplugged the coil so went and plugged that in and tried to start again... this time FFZZZ buzzing relay sound...

Unhooked the ground from the electric fan, and now my key in ACC position gives super weak power to everything (only the dome light works, and even it comes on very slow and weak). Nothing in ON or START. Most devices just cause relay buzzing (e.g., headlights, indicators or haz lights)

Checked all fuses, all look good. Checked all relays I could pull out, all good.

Now, my understanding is that there is NOTHING but the 7.5 amp DOME fuse between the battery and the dome light; so if that 7.5 amp fuse is GOOD, and the dome light is weak/coming on weak/slow, then I PRESUME there is a cabling issue...

So I did a quick search here and found the thread on the Positive Battery to ALT 80 AMP fuse issues, have pulled those bits off the truck and have on a table now, the positive to fuse cable looks hokey as hell with two separate gauge cables crimped together, the 80 AMP fuse looks good and has continuity...

I am going to replace the Positive to ALT 80 AMP cable tomorrow, but are there any other obvious things I'm missing?

Did you check the battery to make sure its still ok ?, if the dome light is very weak checking the battery first would be were i would start.

Turned out to be exactly the same problems described here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...rite-up-33526/

Battery was too low to crank, and the positive terminal to main fuse wire was suspect. Replacing that + giving the battery a charge + fill of water really cleared power up. Starts real nice now.

As an aside, my electric fan on relay works nicely.

Took the battery into kragen for a test, only produced 600 CCA on what was a 750 CCA rated battery. Two of the cells may be shorted through contamination. Had a few months left on the prorated warranty so got $40 back from it and put that towards one of those expensive Optima gel batteries... WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Cranks and starts so fast, all lights are noticably brighter... did not expect such a difference.
