brake line leak
i recently found out through reasoning and deduction that i have a brake line leak.
sign: bunch of brake fluid on my underbody(DOT3 fluid), in almost a neat section, right behind the transfer case. Brake fluid in Master Cylinder reservior gets low very slowly. when the truck sits overnight, no fluid leaks onto the ground, just the underbody.
it's right behind the transfercase... i think it might be hitting the yoke from the TC connecting to the driveshaft and flinging the fluid elsewhere when it's running. no fluid drips from the yoke or TC, or Transmission, IE no class 1 or 3 leak from Tranny/TC. i put a cloth over the brakelines (i think they are the brakelines, i followed em from the rear drums. ) and didn't see any fluid when i had the truck running and someone looking under while i hit the brakes.
the brake pedal itself also has a long travel before the brakes really hit, and if i pump them a bit, the point where the brakes hit gets closer. IE it builds pressure. so if that isn't a brake line leak, i'm going crazy.
now the main problem... HOW DO I FIND IT? i just can't seem to find the source, LOL. what is the best way to finding a brake line leak?
(also: the fluid looks clear when i scoop it onto my finger, IE, it doesn't look red, or black.)
