1988 4runner 22re, ok I was driving to work yesterday and my brake pedal got really hard like rock hard so I hit the brakes hard a few times because I thought it felt like the brakes were dragging I came to a stop at the light and then went to take off and the brakes had locked up and the 4runner would barely move, luckily I was at work and I got it parked without driving too far like this. Went into work came out 5 hours later and the brakes had released
So I drove it home and the brake pedal was now going almost to the floor and barley stopping me. Got it home and checked the drums and they look good, wheel cylinders too. checked the front pulled the pins that the pads slid on and they are pretty rusty and had a lot for build up so I sanded them down, the rotors looked ok, but pads need to be changed. So my brake fluid was pretty nasty so I bled the hole system and ran new stuff through the lines and decided to change out the brake mc since it was original, bench bled it and tried to bleed the lines and I cant get anything through the rear lines, have tried every method, even a brake bleeder pump and I cant get any pressure out of it, the fronts will squirt fluid, but not the rears. spent all day and night on it and I am out of answers, I was having toruble gettting fluid before I put in the new brake mc after I flushed the old system, pulled the bleeders off and cleaned them out. Not sure what to do know and I knew you guys could help so lets hear it, thanks sorry for the novel.

no one? I did search, tryning to think if wheel cylinders would have anything to do with it.

You should be able to get fluid to the rear breaks. Maybe not it both bleeders are open in the rear and it is sucking air from the other drum. Other than that I think it is clogged in the line somewhere. You could disconnect the line from the master and see if it is clear.

yeah I think I will disconnect it and blow some compressed air through it, my fluid was really really bad.

yeah its funny cause its a simple system, but it can be a pain sometimes, taking a break till monday and I will get back on it.

ok wheel cylinders are bad, changed them both out and now still having some trouble bleeding the system, might just have a lot of air in it? Have not had a lot of time since I changed the wheel cylinders to try to bleed it have to go to work and will continue trying to bleed it when I get home, any ideas?

check ur rubber lines sometimes the inner liner will collapse

ok haven't touched if for a few weeks, went out today and tried it again. I can get fluid from the master cylinder at the lines going in to the t(3 way) connectors on the passenger side wheel well, but at both rear wheel cylinders(bleeders) I get nothing. I can't get anything when I try to blled the load proportioning valve in the rear either. What am I missing. There is the one soft line back there that someone mentioned before, any help would be great, thanks.
