Brake hard line leaking at caliper
Two months before I bought my 4runner, the owner had about $1900 of front end work done including new brake pads and calipers. When I bought it, it was leaking a little right where the hard line connects to the caliper. No big deal, I didnt know about it until the "brake" light came on and the brake fluid was down some, which was about 3 weeks after I bought it. That was in the middle of July. It progressively started leaking more and more at a time until it starting leaking down the tire and staining the concrete at the house . I tried tightening the nut thats over the hard line to no avail. A few days ago I was working under my truck and noticed the nut on the other hard line-caliper connection was out further than the one thats leaking. I tried loosening the leaking connection and now its worse. A lot worse. The hard line is not cracked as far as I can tell and I looked very closely. Its leaking where the nut thing threads into the caliper and where the hard line enters the nut. Any idea what needs to be done?
Also, body lifts make working on the engine SO easy!!!!!! I can access the rear plate on the engine with ease and when/if I need to replace the clutch, it will make it so much easier to get at the upper bell housing bolts.
