Exclamation Body mount "PROBLEM"

So did my 2 inch body lift on my 88 T4R and the very back passenger body mount is undone but its seized to the bolt and will not come off, i tried yelling at it swearing at it and hitting it with a BFH. The bitch just wont come off. so for the time being i have it sitting on all the other ones. How serious of a problem am i looking at if i dont have that attached, can it be driven without it (no smart ass answer on that please haha). Or does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you much!

ooo that sucks !! .. been dare done dat .
there is a metal sleeve inside the body mount , it will be rusted to the bolt , this is why (I'm sure you know this)
your going to have to cut it , at least thats what I did . cut the head off and bottom off and then pull it out as is

.

Are there any obstructions holding it in?
I've only had only stuck body mount bolt (front passenger by the rad support).
Lots of WD-40.
A little heat helps too.

is the body resting on the body mounts?
Loosen off all the other body mount bolts and put a jack underneath the trouble corner.
You might able to lift it off.

Yes, it can be driven without it but I would not recommend loading it up in the corner or going very far.

The lifts done minus the one on the rear passenger. its the metal collet in the middle of the rubber bushing its seized on the bolt. i have it soaking in wd 40 hopefully by tomorrow it will free up enough i can smack it out. for now it will have to do without it. hope i dont torque the body to bad.

EDIT: Everythign seems to be okay so far. only took it up and down the dirt drive way (maybe 500 feet) I do know i need some bigger tires now. the 31's dont cut it. guess its time to try n find some 4.88's or 5.29's as well

Red face

Would it not be easier to just get another bushing as you are using new longer bolts.

If that is seized in there I have my doubts you will get it out.

Good luck in any case.

cut it out and if you have to drive it, drive it.

Try PB Blast or Liquid Wrench, they've always worked better for me than WD40. But you'll probably have to cut it.

It's a bad idea to drive your truck with fasteners unfastened, but you surely knew that already. Do what you gotta do.

Wd 40 wont do it. Use PB blaster.Soak it and tighten the bole then loosen.Spsy it again and tighten and loosen. It will come out.

Hi Guys, I came across the same problem when I was removing the 2" lift kit from my 2nd Gen (91-V6) my nightmare was the back left hand corner, tried in vane to belt it out from underneath, even broke a nail.....

Yes, smother it in WD-40, but put the nut back on and tighten it right up !!!

Then from in the cargo area, I used a centre pop marking the bolt centre then I used a 1/2 drill and drilled the head of the bolt off. I then got a 3/8 drift punch and a Dumpy Hammer and went to town on the MoFo, once I got it moving........ it came out ezi-pezi.....

Just my 2cents worth !!!!!!! Hope it helps.
