Body Lift recommendations
I'm about to order a body lift 3" for my 92.. but now that I'm doing reading on the subject I'm torn between the Performance Accessories and Superlift kit. The price range difference is very minimal-but I'm not sure which one is the better product....

Either one is good, just don't do a 3". Do a 2". I did a 1" and can't raise my gas tank which is one of the worst drawbacks on our trucks. Wish I woulda done a 2".

Another vote for 4Crawler. I even got my 2" second hand and the quality is second to none.
And besides that, Roger's a great guy.

id never BL more than 1"... changes vehicle dynamics too much, not to mention they arent very durable or useful for anything other than tire clearance. If i were to get a 1" body lift the only reason for it would be to make it easier to work on things such as the transmission or transfer case where there is very limited space near the bottom of the floorboards.

I've got a 4crawler 3in body lift. I also bought the 3in lifted Motor mounts. You nay sayers can bad talk a 3in lift all you want, between my drivetrain lift and crossmember I built, my T-case only hangs below the frame about an inch, if that. So if your going to lift the drivetrain as well, go for a 3inch kit.

^agreed. But on an IFS truck, I think the best thing you can do is do the body/drivetrain lift and throw so bigger tires on. After seeing what my truck will do with just that, I doubt I'd ever drop the $$$ on an IFS lift.

Good point......I have seen a truck similar to yours (3 inch body and drivetrain lift, with a flat belly) with 31s go down black diamond trails....So I dont doubt the capability..
Its a trade off... I'd rather have the frame clearance though...

I have the Performance Acessories 3" on my '91. Ya, and automatic to boot. .. it can be done. You do need to tighten the bolts after 100 miles or so, onces everything shakes down into place. Also, there's a plate that mounts to the firewall to relocate the steering shaft hole. It's not very precise. Mine needed some trimming, and the holes didn't line up very well. Once installed, I fit 35's with no lift, no trimming, minimal rubbing. To do it again, I'd move a couple of the body mounts up 3" on plates welded to the frame. I'd use the 3" spacers on the front and rear most mounts only.
