blowing ignition fuse on 86'
It's a "fuseable link" sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology. I have an 86' 22r. One day the electricity went out while driving and thus my returning problem of blowing the fuse. I did notice that the alternator is linked up on the opposite side of the relay than the battery, is that correct? It has also been suggested to me that a bad starter could be the problem. Any ideas would be great.

Which fusible link are you talking about? You have a main one with a branch to the fuse panel on the passengers side inner fender. There is another branch to a 30a which feeds your ignition circuit for the 22r. From the fuse panel there is an 80a that feeds the alternator and the 40a one which feeds your start relay circuit. The starter gets it's power direct from the positive post of the battery.
Please explain further!

It is a 70 or 80 amp link on the passenger side. On one side a white positive battery wire then on the other side of the fuse is the alternator wire and another white one.
Should the alternator wire be directly with the pos.? Or on the opposite side of the "link"?
