Bleeder if i may, where did you get the bracketry that allowed you to clear up the mess thats atop the valve cover, Thanks and great pics and build info you have there.

actually, there's no braketry involved, unless you're referring to the ones holding the vacuum lines to the side of the upper intake

I lost a lot of the mess when I got rid of the EGR valve; that removed one VCV, and the little plastic disc-shaped thingy that clipped into the metal bracket bolted onto the top-rear of the valve cover. The only other two things up there, the VCV for the AC idle up and the one for the fuel pressure regulator, I just rerouted the new vacuum lines to the back of the upper intake manifold, and mounted them using the same bolts that hold the EGR block-off plate to the back of the upper intake.

As far as those brackets holding the vacuum lines in place on the side of the upper intake, those are actually spark plug wire holders, for a small block chevy, that I just had lying around in my tool box

Well, I can't say of any gains or losses from it really I did so much to the motor at the time, that it's really hard to say if it did anything positive for the motor, lol, accept for cleaning up under the hood a little maybe. But in the past, I have tried to bypass it by pulling and blocking off the vacuum lines, and that actually caused the motor to run hotter than normal (which is not uncommon), so I hooked the lines back up and made the EGR valve functional again, and the temps went back to normal. With this electric fan setup I have now though, that hasn't been an issue.

hey bleeder i have a question lol i just got a pacesetter header on mt 22re and i have some really loud exhaust leak sounds? like i know i had an exhaust leak between the down pipe and manifold and i thought with the header it would delete the exhaust ting sound? nope it's worse. my dad had a shop put it on and it looks like they did everything right but all i get is a hell of a ruckes from my header???? lol oyah and just like yours the paint is already pealing lol. so i guess im asking you if i should question the shop or is this header just super loud? sounds good coming out the tail pipe though and i noticed some power gains

honestly, the PaceSetter header is exactly as it costs... cheap...

I mean, it serves its purpsoe I guess, but mine leaks like crazy right now, and I've gone though 4 or 5 head-mounting gaskets now...

I'm going to replace it with a thorley tri-Y shortly

Bleeder, got a question for ya, im getting ready to buy a block and start a motor build, been looking at alot of the threads regarding this and saw somewhere along the line that a 91 22re block may be a little differant then an 87 re block, it was stated that there are some sensors that plug into the wiring harness and they maybe a little differant. Can you shed any light on this for me?

Wiring harnesses change from 88 to 89. I found this out the hard way. I've got an 88 4Runner. Bought an 89 pickup motor.
During the rebuild I sent the injectors from the 89 out to be flow tested. Afterwards when I was assembling the motor, I realized they wouldnt plug into the harness in my truck

Although I don't agree with Chevy parts on a Yota that looks freaking AWESOME!!!! Did they all just bolt up or did you have to drill and tap anything??

Oh and next time you do this (300,000 miles from now) go with blue vac hose. It'll look flat crazy!

awesome ... i was supposed to get the LC stainless header but my dad ordered the pacesetter. didnt complain because i got it for christmas lol so no complaining there but, i didnt expect it to leak worse than before, so i guess i should leave my dad out of things involving my yota lol.

No worries on the Pacesetter. The LCE header that I have needed some..... trimming to get rid of the leaks. What you might have to do is grind a little off of the bottom edge of the mating surface where the header meets the head. Just trim a very small amount at a time. When I did my LCE I finally ended up running two gasket sets and coating them in Copper Coat. It still leaks a little but I've been too lazy (and cheap) to buy four more gaskets and re-trim the header.
