Blazeland LT and Chevy 63's
Hi guys. I know exactly what my plan is and how I'm going to do it. I just have a question or two, and would like feedback or opinions on my plans. Plenty of research has been done, there are just a few things I couldn't find on my own.
I want Blazeland LT and Chevy 63" leaf springs to provide me with the least amount of lift. (I'm going to run 33's with 4.88's.) I know the LT gives 3-4" of lift and that I can get about the same if I love my hangers forward 11" and the shackles back 4" to accomodate the Chevy springs. I also know the LT will add a bit over 3" width to the front, so I will run wheel spacers in the rear in time.
Question 1: Blazeland sells to different "packages" of the LT, the Budget and the Grand Slam. The Grand Slam includes the ame items as the Budget kit but with the addition of Blazeland rebuilt upper control arms and new poly bushings. My question is: Are Blazeland's rebuilt upper control arms same as stock? I see that they are rebuilt, but I just want to make sure for certain before I make a purchase of something I don't necessarily need or want.
Question 2: At the bottom of this page, there is a list of parts that are shown, but not included. Besides the shocks, are those extra parts needed? Or are they just shown in the picture because it would be a good idea to upgrade them, such as the CV's and torsion bars?

You would only need the budget kit if your upper control arm bushings are good. If not you could change them yourself, or if pay some then its going to cost almost the same the rebuilt uppers which are nicely powdercoated.

You will need at least shocks to start, as youll crank have to over crank your torsion bars, risking breaking them. The t100 axles will be needed for 4x4. I just ordered the axles for my truck so ill post some pics on my build-up thread.

well you HAVE to have CV's if you wanna retain the 4wd....duh LOL sorry
his UCA's are completely stock just rebuilt...save your cash and go with the budget kit.
new torsion bars are not needed..but if you're going to run a heavy front bumper or winch then you'll want to upgrade so it's not too soft in the front.
and his kit actually provides about 1" to 2"...the 3"-4" comes from torsion bar crank..you can crank your torsions for 4" of lift..and it will still ride better than stock with his LT kit lol
and i think the T-100 rear axle is 3" wider than the '86-'95 axle...I THINK...not 100% sure though.
and you could just grab a set of T-100 CV's from oreiley's or autozone..or any parts store with a lifetime warranty...that's all that his are.

This is something Ill have to check out.... I have been thinking of a way to put fiberglass bedsides on the 4runner while still keepin it sealed up and with the removable top.

Yeah? Hhm well it seems like there is at least someone that has something bad to say about every spring lol. I was contemplating the minipack and also some deaver f67's but I would have to spend a lot and I'm not trying to build a prerunner, just a dependable trail rig. Too many damn options....lol

People have leaf springs fail typically because they are set up wrong or improperly bump stopped and they negative arch when flex.
63 Chebbies can be super flexy but a bit unpredictable too. I've got several sets of TG springs on several different trucks and set up properly they ride great, flex great and have kept their lift height after initial break in.
With whatever you do, if its not set up right it won't perform up to its capabilities, leaf springs included.

Have you considered asking BlazeN8 these questions?

You "really" only need the longer intermediate shaft from the T100, not the inner and outer joints. It's usually cheaper to buy the whole "half shaft" with the inner and outer CV joints than it is to buy just the intermediate shaft. Make sense?
