I've already asked around about this a little and searched a lot, but I still don't have any clear info on this.

I have a 94 4runner and installed the cruiser coil/bj spacer lift on it a month or so ago. I'm just now getting around to getting some 33's on it and getting rid of the roller skate look. I know my options with the 33x12.50 and that it needs to go on a wheel with 3.75" backspacing to not rub (or have minimal rubbing), but I really don't feel like the loss of power is worth it and I'd be just as happy with 10.50's...i think. The other side of my dilemma is that I really want to widen the stance of the truck, so if I do end up going with 10.50's...what backspacing on wheels would give me a wider and good looking stance? Thanks.

well it is the overall diamiter of the tire that will give you the lose of power. not the width so either way with 10.50 or 12.50's your still going to get a loss of power because they are 33's. and with 3.75 b/s you shouldnt rub atall 10.50's would brobably look good with that b/s also.

You will notice somewhat less of a loss in acceleration with the 10.5's over the 12.5's because the narrower tire has less inertia and rolling resistance. However, you will still see a significant loss in acceleration.

If your 94 runner has the auto, you will no longer be able to use 4th gear IMO even if it came with 4.88's stock like min did. If you have the 5 speed you could probably *live* with 33X10.5's but it would be far from ideal. This all assumes you have the 3.0. If you have a 4 banger you absolutely gotta regear. Actually, you should do that either way but you get the picture.

As for width you have 4.5" of backspacing stock. If you go to 3.75" you will be .75" wider than with 31X10.5's. Maybe see if you can find some 3.5" backspaced wheels. The 12.5's will add an inch to these measurements as far as how they protrude from the fender well.
