Yes, If it is used with a storage tank. Otherwise you will be waiting for about 5 minutes. To give you an idea, I have a caddy pump on my wife's truck with a 1 gallon air tank. I have the cut out switch set at 100 psi. Takes about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes to fill it. I have it hooked up to her air horns, been using it for a couple of years without any problems. It's nothing like one of the big Viar compressors, just a cheap junk yard mod that works great for smaller storage tanks. (for us poor folks)

On my old bronco II I had the caddy pump, 1 gallon air tank set to 135 PSI, Hadley air horns & I also added an air chuck under the wheel well for airing up tires, air beds & stuff like that. People thought it was cool when I would plug my coiled hose into it & air up a tire for them. I think I may put one on the Yota.

I went to the junk yard today to replace a P.O.S. horn the p.o. put in it. 4bangin i stole your idea to get duals out of a larger ford. only thing was when the guy was pulling it off the truck, one of the horns magically dissipated. i asked him where it was and neither of us could find it so i got the single horn for about $3. much louder than what it had in it.

i doubt it, but not too hard to rig up. a postive lead and a ground. lol. or a +, a -, and a ground.

You could also put a master cylinder in from a 3.4 4runner i paired that with my otherwise stock brakes (dont even grab in the rear) and i can stop on a dime (on 35's)

The domestics use some weird wiring but i've rigged a dodge horn up to one of my yotas.. its pretty easy if you have a general knowledge of how they work

No plug-and-play per say. The Ford horns...well most older domestic horns for that matter, use the mounting bracket as the ground, and a power. In my 79, my original harness at the time was worthless so I ran it to a aftermarket horn button.

Tried a set in my 4Runner, ran the grounds off the mounting studs on the back of both, and the power to the wires in the factory horn plug, worked...but my horns were waterlogged and sounded like a weak fart in a tin can.

Good luck getting them in/around the factory horn location w/o bending the mounting bracket (dual horns)

Isn't that the same bore (1") as a 3.0 2nd gen 4Runner? Or is the 3.4 master better still?

Just visited my local junk yard looking for a Toyota truck to pick bits off of for my new 1986. Guy just looked at me for a shocked second and then said "We don't get those here. People just keep rebuilding and driving them." then his buddy added "And when they won't pass inspection they make them into mud buggies or woods trucks." Saw quite a few Jeeps there though.

Does anyone know where I can get a decent used crossmember? The one behind the transfer case that holds up the front of the gas tank. At the back edge of the cab (extra cab short box 4x4)

lmao "we dont get those here" thats great, i went to a u pull in orlando giant place like 50 acres of straight cars and trucks.........2 toyota 4runner completely ravaged only thing i could grab were the hubs, but theres a local guy that buys the crap out of them but he wants lotsa $$ for everything, and has anybody thought of using 2 caddy pumps for faster inflation times??

my horn is on its way out. it doesnt work too well probably lots of resistance in the connection but i hate the sound of it. so i have a horn from a dodge ram hanging around the house and its much louder so im gonna hook that up today
