what tires are the best for both DD and mud? what brand? im looking to get 31x10.5 b/c i finally got new rims, American racing black for 100$ im stoked!!!!

Lots of great reviews about the TRXUS M/T - very quiet supposedly (I have heard several people say quieter than MTR's, and I think MTR's are pretty quiet for what they are!)

I'm sure everyone is going to say BFG M/T's ...

I don't know specifically about MUD, but for DD and for the rocks/loose gravel/dirt my Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's have done well. They are super quiet, and available in the size you want too. Search up; here's a bit to get ya started.

i got them off craigslist used once! practically new besides a few scuffs from the tire machine........now i just have to get some rubber...........know im starting to think, 31x10.5 or 32x11.5????? i got 4runner sag back planning on getting some new leafs SOON!!! any opinions?

I personally have 15X9 inch rims with 32X11.50 MTR's. My '91 pickup has Downey torsion bars on the front (about 1&1/2" lift) and 1&1/2" shackle lift on the rear. Before the lift, my tires rubbed a little, but no more. Oh yeah, I would recommend the MTR's, they're worth every penny. Quiet, aggressive, soft tread. We know most people drive their trucks more in the city than off road, so some radial ply tires would be best. BFG's are loud and very knobby!!!

BFG's are pretty quiet if rotated regularly. Twice more than A/T's. I've never had them, but a friend does on his ....ehem....Jeep. I was impressed.

Any Mud Terrain will be FINE for on and off-road. Better than any A/T for mud.

When you get into larger rigs (big fords, chevies) then you start seeing a bigger loss in MPG and tread wears much quicker on a larger rig.

I run Dunlop Mud Rovers 31x10.5 and have 30k and they're 75% tread left.

Remember tho a Mud Terrain won't wear as evenly as a more street friendly tire so ride gets worse as they wear. FYI

I have no dog in the hunt here, I just think reusing rubber (read: oil) and cutting down on waste is a good thing. Besides, they look to be quite cheap.

Checkout the Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs like Exeter suggested, i like mine alot. They have a great looking sidewall, can play off road, and they are pretty road friendly. Mine are quiet (for an M/T) and they weren't too expensive. I've also heard they wear well.

in all seriousness, i'd vote for a set of 32x11.50 BFG Muds..31s look to small and 33s don't look right and hurt performance on a stock rig..so best bet is 32s

BFG AT's all the way. They are amazing. I had a set of 31-10.50' that laster 3 years and even 3/4 wore out still worked. Decieving to look at but they wear well and cleanout very well.

BFG A/T's are a great tire..no lie, great on and offroad...unless you hit the mud...
see the fronts, those are about 80% tread in the front there...they just balled up with mud..and its not like it didnt throttle it to clean um

Got my vote for BFG/ AT's. I've had them on 3 different vehicles, they're quiet and have a solid compound so they last pretty long. Stay away from ProComps if you want to get more than 20k out of them. Noisey, bubblegum tires!

I would have to give the bfg muds another vote. Look cool the street dosent eat them up and excellent aired down off road. Not to pricey either

I'm DD'ing on some Iroks right now...

While I couldn't exactly recommend them for comfort on the road, they look great and the traction offroad is nothing short of amazing on every type of terrain I've been on.

You have to be committed to run them on the road though.
