Belts Singing Terrible Tune

Belts Singing Terrible Tune
New problem with my 95 Runner Limited 3.0. I took her out to the woods to play in the mud. Had a great time, but when I got back and started it up the next morning, the belts were whistling a god awful tune.
A couple buddies said to try putting a little dawn dish soap on them and rinsing it off with water. That did no good at all.
The guy at the parts store said "yeah it happens every time i take my runner to the mud... Have to replace the belts... I do every time"
This seems crazy so I thought I would ask on here
Any other solutions? Or do I really have to change the belts?

Stupid question as I am not familiar with the 3.0. At the belts auto tensioned or are they manual tensioned like the 22re? Also I used to use the dawn soap trick as well. But that was because my old 85 had a oil leak and the soap would help wash off the oil so they wouldn't slip. Growing up with noisy belts I would get some beeswax and apply it to the belt and that would quiet it down for some time. Just be careful with that one. Lots of moving parts and only takes a split second to have a permanent whoops.
