Basic manual windows

How hard is it to make my bare doors have manual windows? Just picked up a 86 4runner that has doors, glass (with the small windows) and that's all. Btw I did a search and shuffled thru first 4 pages. Thanks y'all!

Depending on if you have the wing glass or no wing glass. The rail that supports the window is different lenghts. All of the mounting holes are in there. You will need the plastic tabs that go into the doors to make the screws hold them. Not a bad job to do in my opinion.

It has the small glass and some internals butits for electric windows. They don't work. I want to start clean with just basic roll up and down windows.

I am not sure if the electric window channel on the bottom of the window is different or not. The glass should slide out of it if it is different and you can make it work.

Get the doors with manual windows

Either just swap the complete door or strip your doors down to the shell and install all the parts from the manual window.

Post where you are located so you can find other members nearby with manual windows on similar year-model.
Compare mounting holes and regulator parts, etc on your door with theirs.
Decide if possible to convert.
Buy them pizza and beer.

Yes it is always good to post where you live.

Go to your local yards try and find the doors.

Without both manual and electric window doors side by side it is impossible to give a list of what is needed because something always gets forgotten.

You need manual window regulators for wing window doors, manual wing window door panels and window cranks.

Its very easy I did it on my old 86 runner.
