barrel-key door locks

newly purchased a '95 SR5
has anyone ever seen these? there are barrel-key door locks on both sides.
they're kinda neat, but it only came with 1 well worn key, so i'd like a replacement.
the only info on the key is "STAR-KEY".

woah

I haven't seen those in AGES...

The reason those barrel key locks exist, is that the Toyota key - when worn down to a "nub", will uh - basically open any Toyota truck door.....

I would love to have those. Do they activate the electric locks?
D/S I turn unlocks driver door, double tap it and unlocks all 4 doors.
Any quality locksmith (probably gonna be spendy) should be able to make some barrel keys for you. I had some done for a lock a few years ago

As Drop zone stated any good locksmith has the tool and the blanks to make them.

I am curious just how the connection to the door linkage is made

haven't opened the door to look, but it performs just like a regular key.
maybe somebody with a very special connection/resource, or a very ingenious/creative craftsman.
i haven't found anything of the sort on the internet.

related issues: i have a regular key for the ignition, which doesn't open the back door.

that rear lock is easy to remove, you can pull the rear interior carpet from the tailgate, than you find a metal cover held on by 5 or 7 screws. the key switch is held in place with with a gold colored clip and you should be able to undo the wiring harness (i think it is a 3 wire terminal)
there is also a black rubber sheath type deal over the lock
crappy picture but you can kind of see it in the bottom of this picture
