Theres lots of things that can cause a vibration, Check the pinion flange nut on the front and rear axles, it could also be a bad pinion bearing, check the mounting flange nut on the transfer case, check the u joints, it could also be bad front or rear wheel bearings, or out of balance tires.

Yea, if your tires are really bald, that could possibly cause a vibration, but thats just a guess on my part.

If the tires are super old and cracked then they will start to cause a rougher ride. Can you tell where about the vibration is coming from the front or back? you can check your front end for missalignment by running your hand across the top of the tires and if they arnt flat and evenly worn then you may have a problem there. I always check u-joints first when there is a vibrations. Have you done any work to it lately taken drive shaft off or anything?

ujoints can go both ways, some times they suck and need to be beat out with a BFH, some times they just fall out when you remove clips. but in general its not that bad.
