Bad TPS, runs rough?

Well yesterday I was driving away and as I speed up to make a turn the truck just weaken itself out and died on me. No white smoke. But I can see some dark fluid coming out from a small leak from the exhaust, seem to be un-burn fuel. It is now miss firing. The RPM will not stay and fill like it want to die out so I gave more gas and still fill the missfiring and it cannot go more than 20 miles per hour. Tomorrow I will check it again and give update on the progress... If anybody can insight me to the problem, can give me some advice to get it fix soon. Thanks in advance...

are you sure to adjusted the TPS correctly? Does the idle drop when you short the te1 and e1 connectors?

I would also check your air flow meter. If the flapper inside is stuck or if it is malfunctioning it will run very rich like you are describing. In my sig is a link to FSMs they have pretty good trouble shooting guides in them.

I would vote for a 3.4 swap I had one in a 97 4runner and was very happy with.

You could look into a lexus 1uz-fe a V8 mini truck is always nice.
It also has a aluminum block so it weighs about what the 4cyl does.

:update: 10.03.2009.....

Whaha she is ALIVE !!! I have tought that if the rings are bad would it burn oil? so it didn't. Another tought would be the HG but it did not blown any white smoke from the tail pipe. So I inspect the timing belt and put it in TDC and wahhh it is off. The left sprocket is like three teeth off and the right sprocket was four off. So I adjust them to spec and it zoooooom!... What cause it is some pieces of the cover gasket have fall into the timing belt and must ran it many time to skip a tooth. So it still run... It will run forever. If ya know how a off timing run like that is how mine was... Thanks for everythings.

You know hunting and fishing are around the corner already and my truck just died in those time man I got to go get that deer now...
