Bad Oil Pressure Gauge

1991 DLX ExtraCab Pickup
22RE, 5 speed

The gauge quit working. I found one of the leads from the sensor broke at the bayonet type connection. I spliced them back together, no pressure indicated. I replaced the sensor and still no gauge movement.

Suggestions?

Red face

I would say poor splice .

Did you solder the splice??

Did you also install a new connector.

They get corroded quite easy that you might not see with the naked eye.

Most all the electric oil pressure gauges I have seen just on wire just what did you try and repair??

Splice

I couldn't use the old OEM connector since the wire was broken off right at the connector. I just used a straight butt splice....nothing fancy, just trying to make a connection.
