Sounds to me like a shady shop. They should have road tested the vehicle first and noticed the shake. Also, if they knew the steering box was bad, why didn't they say so when you picked it up? I would get a second opinion at another shop. Have you checked your tires? Maybe one of them threw a weight or has a knot. I'm not a mechanic, but I don't understand how a steering box can cause a shake. Loose steering maybe.

I wouldn't let Big O check my tire pressure. They're about as bad as those dummies over at Walmart.

have to agree about big-o. they did an alignment on my bro's c1500 with 5" rancho lift and forked it up bad.
anyhow. I've had good luck with firestone on alignments. and for about 100 something, you can get a lifetime alignment policy where you can take it back whenever and get it aligned for free.

well i kinda stopped believing him after he said it could be my cv's too becuase mine are manual so they are not even connected when they are unlocked. but my step dad said he had a 68 chevy that has a bad manual steer box that shacked the wheel, but mine is like a the truck is shaking its self apart and it was aligned 3 months earlier and was fine but had worn idle arm bushings wiched caused it to drift back out of alingment but i have rebuilt those before i took it in this time

is the box leaking?

start by checking every component in your steering system....start tugging on pitman arms, tie rod ends etc for any play

Have you checked your u-joints for play? You may wanna have your tires rebalanced. Usually, whoever you bought them from will balance them for free.

I prefer those little black sticky strings for patches. Don't know what the call those, though. Glad you got it fixed.

I'd go back to Big O and tell the Manager that you know they were either trying to rip you off or they were too stupid to figure out the real problem and took a stab in the dark. Also make sure he knows that you and everyone you tell will never go to his store. Maybe it'll deter them from the same shoddy practices on the next guy.
