axles questions

ok ive been reading about this oem locker install the one ya swap out of a taco into a 8" 93 runner or what ever you have my question is... if im correct the taco has only 2 inches longer rear end junk yards sell exles CHeap! does anyone know of any problems matching a taco rear end to a 93 runner or is it easier to just mod the case question 2 im geting a whining noise from the rear end im new to yotas is the rear seal a problem area for these trucks i think mine is going


the reason im asking about the oem locker is .. well i want to get a locker but just like all of us dont feel like spending a buttload of franklins

I can think of 1 problem. Leaf springs on the taco and coil springs on the 'runner.

Less welding to put the e-locker in your 'runner housing than to move all the link mounts and spring perches.

no there is no problem if you want springs in the rear than you will have to buy a kit, but the coils should mount the same way

You could just score an axle form a 3rd gen runner with the e-locker and coil setup already,seems to be an easier route.

springs and shocks are opposite locations, inboard/outboard. good fabbing skills definatly req'd.

Easiest thing is to swap turds...I mean thirds. But, have you inspected the differential, yet? Is it leaking oil from the flange seal or anything?
