Automatic to Manual Hubs Question

Automatic to Manual Hubs Question
Looking to chang my 94 V6 Pickup from auto locking hubs to manual. Did plenty of research on here and it seems pretty straight forward. The only problem is when i was looking for a pair of manual hubs on auto parts websites they all said i needed a spindle nut conversion kit? I got my pair of hubs from ebay (aisin) in the threads on here about the conversion it says nothing about changing the spindle nut over. Can anybody help me out here? Do i need a different nut or can i just throw on the manual hubs by using what I already have to work with?

For Asins, they are direct bolt on. (OEM) Warn (I believe) need the axle nut conversion. Make sure before you swap them, rebuild/clean them.... I've done this "swap" on my 90 4Runner - easy job. I would suggest keeping the autohub and cap for a trail spare....

For ADD you do not need the spindle conversion kit. If you have AUTO hub (available on some 1st gen 4runners, but not 2nd gens i believe) then you need the spindle conversion. Or at least that's the way i heard it.

I found a front 4.56 V6 axle with ADD.
Im rebuilding my 86 runner 4 cylinder which has 4.10's and auto hubs. I have a extra set of manual asian hubs. What do I need to do/get to install this with the 4.56 carrier.
Or if someone has a link, please pass it on.....
Thx, D

To convert from ADD to manual hubs all you need is the hubs themselves.
remove the 6 bolts holding the flange on, remove the single big nut, then remove the 6 cone washers. Then just put everything back together with your manual hub.

You will need the spindle nut conversion kit mentioned above.
Just visit WabFab.org, he will have all that you need.
He has the conversion kit for $30+$15 shipping.

You will have to find some way to make the ADD work in your truck, since you have auto HUBS and not ADD. ADD is vacuum actuated, so if you could figure out a way to do that, it would work. But, IMHO, the ADD is a waste of time and effort. Better off to find a non-ADD 4.56 diff.

This is what Im thinking.....
Use the 93 V6 ADD 4.56 carrier in the existing 86 housing/axles/tubes and add the manual hubs with a "conversion" kit......then NO ADD items to mess with..
