Auto Tranny Trouble

92 4X4 22re Auto. I've been having intermittent problems . It does a studder ( shutter) on occasion . The big problem I have is that it wont NOT go into overdrive . The light on the dash goes on and off with the push of the overdrive button , but it will always go into it. So I changed out all of the shift and lock up solenoids with a doner tranny , and no change. The overdrive light flashes when the button is not engaged , so I'll check for codes ASAP. I did a search , but only 1 person had a problem like this and he didn't finish the post with results. Thanks for any positive input. I'll post the results.

I have changed the speed sensor on the tranny , but the needle on the speedo is bouncing some still. I changed the TPS and the ECT , no difference.
I'll say this is strange when I'm driving at 2500 RPM , If I throttle it a little the tach will drop down to 2000-2200 , then if I let off the throttle it will climb back up to 2500 WTF.

I need to know where the DG terminal is for checking the codes on the tranny , I've looked all around the airbox ,but dont see it.

Check your throttle cable at the throttle body. The pressure in the tranny is controled by this.

Hey thanks. I have the cable staked with about 1/8 inch of lack. I pulled a 61 code , speed sensor #2 . I have replaced this already from a donor tranny and it looked to be in good shape , but what else could be linked to the speed sensor are there any wires in the tranny ? My speedo is jumping a little still.

On a second note I have codes 25 and sad to say 26. Now the 25 would explain why it revs when I let off on the pedal. 26 with 25 is not good news , any input ? From what I've read it points toward compression.

OK I 've replaced the #2 speed sensor , but no change. I'm really stumped here , I just dont understand why it always goes into overdrive , it really sucks on the back roads. Anyone ?
