Anyone have their ECU rebuilt?
I believe I have narrowed down my code 52 to the ecu. I am hesitant to buy a used one and wanted to see if anyone had any luck with sending theirs out to be rebuilt? If so, who did you send it to?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would open it up and look for corrosion, If you have some, used tv tuner spray, clean it all up then look for broken solder joints and repair those. There is not much in these dinosaurs. I had same problem, found allot corrosion and broken solder joints, repaired myself.

My truck would not run at all, i used a friend ecu to confirm mine was bad before starting such a task, I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Other then a Turbo truck I have never seen a non turbo computer not fail unless it got wet. I would take my chance with a used one. I was unaware that you could get remanufactured computers but a truck I bought awhile back did have one in it that had a reman sticker on it.

-Erratic CEL ( no pattern to blinks)
-Timing pulled when miss happens while watching with timing light
Took a buddies running 86 22re and swapped out plug wires,cap,distributer,AFM,TPS,coil/igniter.All one at a time and nothing changed until I swapped in his ecu,now with his ecu it runs great with all my original parts still in place .no stutter ,no cel.Now his runs like crap now with my ecu in his truck.ha ha

Sounds like you do have a bad computer. As far as Check Engine Light that comes on intermittently with no codes, in my past experience it is due to some vacuum leaks. I would replace the vacuum lines if they are old and brittle.
