If so how did you do it? These philips head screws are a big a$$ pain. Tried liquid wrench and some heat, no luck, do i need to drill them out or what?

I'll be sitting here hoping for a reply on this as well. I never could get the one off of my spare throttle body.

I mean seriously, they make replacement IACV's and I wonder if anyones actually got to replace it to see if it fixes the problem.

Can you drill it out and just re die the threads?

What kills me is the damn screws they used to mount it. I'd think that some honest to God hex headed bolts would have been a better idea... heck even some allen headed ones would be an improvement.

Yeah no doubt, because low grade little bitty phillips heads bolts can take a massive amount of tourqing after 16 years. Jesus Christ. You think anyone has replaced it? I am thinking about whizzing them off with a dremel, getting the damn valve off, then vice gripping the remaing part of the bolt.

This sh-t is stupid.

NUMBER TWO OUT JUST NOW.....i think with a nice set of craftsman professional vises, I am getting them. I dont have a vice i am hold it on the workbench and taking small enough turns to just loosen the bolt.

the one with the lip around it will be tough but once i get the three that I can get to the heads with the vices, i will just spin the whole unit to loosen it up

I actually used a Phillips screwdriver. I knew I had one shot at em. Supported from behind with one hand and took a good crack at em. Guess I got lucky. I should have swapped them out to some hex heads or Allen bolts, but it still worked fine for me.

Did you get a different one to throw in there or you just gonna adjust the one you have in there? I picked one up at the J yard, but I realized mine was in way better shape. Glad I got it though, I had to cut one of the coolant hoses off so I used one off the j yard valve.

*laugh* I'm still hoping to find the 85 Supra TB (60mm baby!) with the integrated IACV so I don't have to fight with this on that tiny little TB that I have now. Of course with my luck the Supra TB will have a shot IACV also.

Oh and kiyo you did indeed get lucky.

Why did you boil it? Oh and was it served with veggies or as a side to a meat dish?
