anybody rebuild a CT-20?

hello,

my stock CT-20 turbo charger has stopped building any real boost and is starting to burn through oil. so i have decided it needs to be rebuilt, has anybody done this and does anyone know where to get a rebuild kit. Toyota doesnt sell them anymore. P.S this will be the second time the turbo was rebuilt is it even worth rebuilding again?

http://www.turbochargerengineering.c...Cat=40#reviews

"As time rolled by, Turbo Engineering Center (TEC). Of Magalia, California found that the life expectancy of the CT-20 was in the neighborhood of 60,000 miles. When it comes time to replace or repair these units, Toyota only offers a replacement turbo for $1850-no service or repairs. TEC traced the CT-20's short life span to the routing of the oil supply line. The line ran directly under the turbine housing and was joined to it. This allowed a great deal of heat transfer and TEC believes oil was ultimately restricted which led to turbo failure. Another shortcoming of the Toyota turbo was the backpressure it produced. TEC tested a CT-20 and found at 9 psi there was 22 psi of backpressure and high exhaust gas temperatures. The conditions were ripe for failure."

LC engineering sells an adapter for a T3 turbocharger and if I am not mistaken doesn't Volvo use the T3 turbo on a few of the older cars they made? Would a T3 be a good replacement turbo if I could find one cheap?

There are many, many types of T3 turbo's....
BTW don't rebulid it yourself if you do.. get it professionaly done as it needs new bearings and to be highspeed balanced for it to last...
