So I start he runner the other day and the auto antenna rises and falls over WTF?
I pulled the flexible/curled piece out. How does one get this sucker back in and working right?

I can't help myself.....
Mine broke off wheeling with some low ceiling trees.....I just broke and ripped the sucker out. I bought a new one from the yota dealership for like $20 I want to say. I am not sure how to get the old one replaced so I ended up putting a new head unit in it and it works fine as long as the motor works on the antenna. I don't seem to have any reception issues either. Also it helps not having that sucker on there anymore with my wheeling habits.

Search!
It'll suck back in when you turn the stereo from off to on and feed it into the antenna motor. The plastic bit isn't broken, it just kept going until it fell out? That happened to me the other day when I unscrewed the nut to paint it another color and forgot it was still off when I turned the truck on. Ha! Sucked it back in with the antenna motor, put the nut back on and life is good again. There's a retainer on the antenna to keep it from going past the nut.
Ah! Assuming it's like the 3rd gen antennas....didn't see the section this was in...
I'll just say I'm having an off day!
