Another yota gone...:(
Alright so heres the story….
Sat. night at around 10:45
Driving down mile hill road in Port Orchard, Wa, My 16 year old brother and I had just gotten done hanging out at a buddies house after a local show with a couple bands. As I was coming up to a stoplight right before a crest of a hill, I looked down and realized I was going 35 in a 45…so I kept it in fourth and just decided to mosey up the hill, because I was in no hurry to get home. As I was goin over the hill, I noticed headlights in the other lane (there was a turn lane in between the two lanes), and I glanced out the drivers side window, I don’t know why, but it was only a glance, then noticed something weird in my peripheral vision, and as soon as I turned to look back I immediately noticed headlights coming from a direct diagonal angle straight at me…by that time I was doing around 43-44mph…(The next part happened in all a split second) All I remember saying is “what the F***!?!??!!!!??...and next thing I know is I’m looking for a way out, remember looking at the right hand shoulder and thinking “no way its too far” by then I had the clutch pushed in and my right foot was in between the brake and gas, I look back at where he’s coming from and the headlights disappeared under my hood…boom…I don’t remember screaming at my bro but we we’re both screaming at each other “Are you F***ing okay???” I don’t remember saying anything to him or remember him acknowledging me, but next thing I’m thinking is “Who can I call?” so I called my buddies who’s house we just came from, and they rushed over…I was pacing the shoulder back and forth saying “Oh F***” over and over again…I was in such shock I didn’t even think about the other guy…when my buddies showed up I was like “Who called you???” they were like “You did!” I said “WTF” and kept pacing…I was in so much shock it all flew by really fast, but next thing I was strapped to the board cause my neck hurt intensly bad, collared, and the medic was sittin beside me while I was layin on the ground. I remember freezing cold, and then the hot lights from inside the ambulance…rode to the hospital, got a xray, couple icepacks, some antiflammatory, vicaden, and an 800 tylenol…when the doc said nothing was broken I was like “oh sweet, I can still move!” ….parents had driven there from where they where stayin over an hour away, and by the time we got back home it was like 3 or 3:30 in the morning….
Luckily there was only 1 man in the other vehicle, which was (it looked like) a older buick or similar 4 door car…the firemen had to use the jaws to cut him out and his pulse was very week, and a gurgling noise was coming from his throat…he was airlifted to harborview…don’t know anything about him yet…if anyone prays, pray for him now.
I did not have any time to hit the breaks, or break in any way, and neither did he, so the cops figured there was an impact collision force of around 85-90mph… that is the thing that is the trippiest.
The truck, well, ill post pics of it later, its pretty much effed, although I will say it fared better that the car that hit it…im goin to look at it shortly, ill let you guys know.
The trippy trippiest thing is right before we left the house, we almost brought my brothers truck, which is relatively 9 inches above stock (including tires), and if we had run into the situation we did, that guy would’ve been dead, there is no doubt about it…whooh…
Ill get pics from the yard, and hopefully the pics off my phone from the site too…

So just got back from the towing company...
Mile hill (the road i was on) was shut completely down for like 2 to 3 hours, and the towing company was not called for two hours after they first heard about the incident. They said that when this happens there is most likely a fatality involved...oh man...i feel so sorry for that guy. He was a older man that the officers suspected he fell asleep at the wheel...
Im just lucky it didnt turn out any worse for me and my bro...Just some brusing, whiplash, and my bro might have some fracturing in his hand....
For the truck, its pretty much totaled...just got it dropped off at home...the frame is toast, motor and tranny are all over the place...block might be sound but there is no way to tell yet...bellhousing is in like 5 different pieces...just got lucky the windshield didnt break...
For the other guys car, a older mazda 626, everything was smashed for the best explanation....windshield shattered, broke the steering wheel on impact..., oh man...
If i had been driving a car it couldve been much worse...another sucess for toyota...man i loved that truck....sad to see it go...
Ill upload pics to phtobucket right now...

I'm really sorry to hear about the whole incident. Hope he makes it. From the sounds of it, there wasn't anything you could have done so its important to acknowledge this and not blame yourself. Don't be afraid to talk about it with people who care about you.
Hope your neck feels better, I messed mine up in an accident a couple years ago.

Alright...so heres some pics *tear*
engine bay...
If you look behind the top of the intake, you can see where the motor slammed into the fire wall from when it sheered off the drivers side motor mount.
Not really a good pic, but the frame behind the aarm is toast...
That dent in the bedwall next to the cab is from a block that i had in the back that went flyin forward...

and you don't even have a flat tire?!? Sorry to hear about the accident . . . one word of advice, go see a "soft tissue specialist" - a doctor who specializes in neck and back injuries. Seriously, back injuries can give you grief for the rest of your life and you might not even notice anything for several days. Oh yeah, and if the other guys insurance calls you: don't settle for anything until you see a specialist.
While you can feel bad for the other guy, it's time to think about your own well being - he made the decision to drive while tired, now YOU have to deal with his decision.

Yeah, maybe go see an orthopedic surgeon if you can afford it.
Sorry about your truck man. You'll find another. At least you walked away without anything major.
Man, the bellhousing shattered...That is crazy.

You're probably thinking orthodontic. An orthopedic surgeon specializes in the skeleton.
Are you going to use the truck for parts or let insurance take it?

If you have receipts now would be the time to gather them all.
Sorry to hear about this.. Don't beat yourself up about it. I don't feel you were in the wrong for one second.

I'm glad you and the bro are not any more seriously hurt than you are! Take it easy for the next couple of days. By the way I read it, this wasn't your fault. Don't beat yourself up over it, accidents are just that, accidents. I hope the old man is going to be alright.
