Am I lookin at a bad head gasket or what?
So today I got a call from the GF tell me her 93 4runner V6 had broken down. She was on her way to Savannah Airport to drop off her dad. So I got in the car went about 45 minutes towards Savannah. I asked her what had happened and she said she got a bunch of white smoke and so she didn't want to drive it any farther.
When I got to her and her dad she said it didn't feel right so I popped the hood and told her to start it. It started and stayed on with no weird idle and no smoke and the only thing I noticed wrong was was, what looked like, a mixture of water and oil coming out of the tailpipe. That was the first time I had seen any water come out of the exhaust on her truck.
So they had already called the tow truck and we waited for them to come and had the car towed to my house 64 miles away. $295 later the car was back at my house. So i tried starting it and it started and dies about 5 seconds later. So I tired starting it and giving it some gas and it dies about 5 seconds later. So then I started it and drive putting it in drive and as soon as i moved it from park it died.
I tried searching and couldn't really find much and it's also hard when she "really doesn't know what happened, it was just scary." So is it the head gasket or what? I'm gonna go up to the dealership tomorrow with her VIN and ask if the head gasket recall has been done. But I'm not really sure what else it could be. Any help is greatly appreciated from both me and her. Thanks guys.

sounds like a headgasket. check for a penut butter like substance under the oil cap, or pull a valve cover. look into the radiator look for oil and low coolant. You could also pull the plugs and see how they look and with the plugs out crank the motor and see if it spits water. Atleast you have an excuse now to swap in a 3.4

Yea I guess tomorrow will be devoted to working on her truck. It's a shame it happened to hers, she doesn't need the 3.4, I DO!

Well it turns out she blew her motor up. Now I'm trying to convince her to sell it to me or at least part it out so I can get some good stuff and then let the vultures have the rest.
