No, becuase it doesn't have a neutral safety switch. The remote start system has to know that the vehicle is in PARK, but obviously manual trans trucks dont have a "park"

i know you can install remote starts on manual's, i just think you have to be careful and never leave it in gear... oh, and never drive in water with one, it wont ever work right again (personal experience with a clifford)

yea, i suppose you may be right...but i was referencing installing it correctly. I believe installing it in a manual will void your warranty also.

i dont care for a warranty, its only about 80 bux, it can be done on manuals, because all my buddys with cars have em. and they are manual.

Thanks, and keep them coming.

It can be done like you said. The problem will be when you or someone who borrows your truck try to start it in gear. My brother has been doing car stuff for 15yrs, he bypassed his clutch safety and put Pop's fith wheel thru the windshield. He then devised a set of relays and switches to place around the shifter so that if the shifter was in anything but neutral to kill the start command. That was quite a while ago, there might be something like that out and avail. I want to say it only took about a half hour to build, and a little time to tweak. I can ask him if he remembers how he did it if you like.

Even if i can be done i would nt bypass the safety. It'll cause more trouble than its worth.jmo

Yes you can easily install a remote start on a manual. Would I recommend it? NO WAY! I think it wouldn't be too difficult to set up a series of microswitches as reggie 00 mentioned....

I have had one for 6 years on mine. with the clutch cancel switch bypassed. I have'nt had one problem out of it in 6 years. Mine has a valet switch that you just flip when you want to shut it off, like if you lone the truck out. mine is made by DEI, the best there is!

i have a compustar and i would recommend it to anyone who reads this. i've had 3 different systems before, all where "Top a da line" models for the companies. i got the middle package from compustar and WOW, the auto start for my Manual is perfect, the remote set-up is perfect. the LCD display on the remote is amazing. and best of all...i have had NO problems yet. like it did not go off for the first few days like others do. Mine has a rock/tilt sensor so if someone jumps on it or lifts one side up to try and steal a tire. it has everthing! i special sensor for the back door, a window sensor for every window. Man you name it compustar works with it!
