Ain't whistling Dixie (Toyota 3L V6 whistle)
1991 Toyota 3L V6 with whistle under accelerationg load from 1500-2200 rpm. This whistle started at about 250k. The entire motor was rebuilt at 251k after blowing a head gasket (#6 cylinder). The whistle was present before and after the rebuild. I personally replaced every belt and hose (radiator, fuel bypass, vacuum, etc.) with genuine Toyota parts during the rebuild. The whistle definitely comes from the engine compartment but only after it comes up to full operating temperature (about 10 miles of highway driving). It is most noticeable when lightly accelerating in traffic. If I let up on the accelerator, the noise stops. As soon as I get back on the accelerator it starts again. Power steering pump is new, alternator is new, water pump is new, oil pump is new. Any ideas?

Still have not found the whistle. It certainly is not the whistle you all keep connecting to this post. I tried lubing the drivelines. I checked all exhaust connections (no issues). The whistle is load dependent. The drive train needs to be under moderate load at aobut 1500-2000 rpms and light throttle position to activate the whistle. I am wondering if air is leaking around a throttle body connection or something. Still looking.

Where the heck did they find those people in that video? At 1:55 there's practically a head on collision as she runs a stop sign at full throttle.
No help on the whistling but my 4runner does it also at light throttle pressure.

Can you hear it at idle if you have the hood open?
Sounds like it could be a split intake hose, if you can hear it at idle feel around the tubes with the engine running, you'll heard the sound change when you cover the crack.
