AFM opps :(

Ok so i was checking the AFM (should of looked it up first im dumb) well i tried to disconnect it by taking the two screws out the sides and pulled on it well... this was a BIG mistake!!! i tore the wires out of it and it lookes like they were connected directly to the board. can they be re attatched? solderd in or something? I feel really dumb for doing this

No , you will not be so much fine...you will need to re-solder the wires as youve broken the connections, or get a new one from a junk yard.

here's a link to a high res pic of the AFM board.

Some one on another board did exactly the same thing

In fact when I saw this thread I thought it was a repost.

Now you've gone and done it...

Now that you linked that thread here I can't go in and change the pics to goatse to piss off the mods over there.

That forum seems very lame these days...

I did the samething about 4 years ago. Toyota never should have put screws there! Anyway after cutting it open and resoldering the foil strips back onto the circuit board and resealing the lid it worked fine. Just have to get some very thin solder and a small soldering tip and be careful not to overlap any of the tracer lines on the circuit board. One piece of foil I soldered together in the middle of the strip. Good luck

It's definitely ok, don't worry about it.

If I saw it being linked on a board I don't post on I'd go delete the pic though, but it's all good here.

Btw, good to see some of you guys starting to post here more.
