Adding a tow hook from local parts store

Wanted a second tow hook for the front of the runner. I was looking around at work and found a Reese 7007400 10k lbs tow hook for around 14 bucks. I decided to take the factory tow hook off, and check the bolt length and spacing. Surprisingly the Reese hook had the correct spacing. Here are some measurements:

Bolt Spacing: 1.5 inch center to center
Bolts: M12x1.25-55mm long Grade 10.9

The factory bolts are 17mm hex, and you need either a deep socket or a 3" extension to clear the hook. Most of the bolts you will find at the hardware store. I was lucky enough to dig through my 2 bolt bins and happened to find 2 brand new bolts that were the correct size. That almost never happens!

Here is the old one off, I still need to get the spring steel retainer back into shape.

Here is the new tow hook and bolts. Plus you get a couple of spare bolts to trow in the trail box.

Decided to throw a little roll bar paint on the hook while it was off.

Here is the Reese hook mounted on the passenger side, the factory hook was moved to the drivers side.

Here is both of them. The ring that is on the drivers side can be put on the top of the tow hook. This will allow a ring for tow truck drivers to strap down on. I still need to fabricate a new spring steel retainer for the drivers side hook, and clean up the cut on the valance on the drivers side.

Now I know the hooks are a dime a dozen at the junk yard, but I do not have time to hit the junk yards around here. So for other like me this may be useful.
