ADDING rear heat on 1st gen

ive searched and have only found threads about removing rear heat. How hard is it to add it? it just seems like not very much heat makes it to the rear section. I know you would have to run coolant pipes then with the wiring i was wondering what all it needs, just power i would assume? The rest i would assume is controlled within the box that holds the other heater core and fan. Would i need the other style console too? or could i just modify this one? Any info from people that are familiar with how the rear heat works on these would be great...Thanks!!!

The best way would be to get all the parts from a 4Runner that has it and swap that in.

or you could build your own system from scratch.

Then you could just go with a 12 Volt electric heater.

It does not get very cold here so I very seldom use anything but the defrosters.

You will need the rear heat console, it houses the switch, temp selector etc, and the storage area is shallower to allow for the heater assembly.
You can take a look at the service manual here to get a look at what it might entail
