I have purchased an aal lit and was in the process of installing it when it occurred to me that the center bolt is not long enough. I figured this wouldn't be an issue until I noticed that the spring perches are fully enclosed which prevents me from being able to replace the bolt by flipping it and putting the nut inside the perch.

Hve any of you run across this, and if so how did you overcome this? I don't have a torch set, so I'm looking for ways to do this without torches.

Whoa, hold on now. You seem to have been shorted the longer center bolts required for the job. They should have been in the box with the leafs.

You must use longer center bolts when adding a leaf to a spring pack.

x2 mine came with longer bolts.

List of things I'd try to remove said nuts/bolts no torch:

1.Nut Splitter

2.Cold chisel the nut off.

3.CAREFULLY use a cutting tool such as a hacksaw or a cut-off wheel/angle grinder to cut the nut off.

Try to avoid nicking the springs whatever you do.

no it came with 4 bolts that are approx 6" long. Wasn't quite sure what they were for, but they still don.t do me much good if I can't get the the bolt that is already encased in the spring perch. (unless I just mis-understood how this works)

When we did mine we just went to the local auto parts store and ordered new center bolts. There is a little notch in the spring perch that the head of the nut/stud fits into. Used a punch and a hammer to drive out the old rusted center bolt. (one was missing!!)

Im not really sure what you're trying to show in that picture.

Nothing goes inside the spring perch. There's a hole in the top for the non-nut end of the center bolt to ride in.

The only thing connecting the springs to the axle should be the u-bolts.

Don't know why the gave you 4 bolts, it only takes 2.

My stock centering pins came out with a hammer and a flat head screwdriver. Just hit them and they'll work their way out. Is that what you're having problems with? The stock center pin isn't coming out? Took me all of 20 seconds per side when the ubolts were undone and everything was loosened up.

Where did you get the AAL from? Toytec sent me 2 bolts with the AALs.

New, longer leaf spring centering pins are available at a good NAPA. Just bring in the old one, and get new, longer ones. Assemble leaf pack, cut off remainder of bolt.
Run AAL for a couple of years.
Break AAL, buy new leaf springs from Marlin.
