add a leaf which one??
hi i have an 86 4runner(stock) and want to put some sort of a lift in the back. It seems that add a leafs are inexpensive and good for the price but i have no idea what to gethttp://performance.drivewire.com/get...||||Suspension do any of these come with every part im going to need..... if not what else do i need. also has anyone heard of BENLFTED in santa cruz california?
p.s.- i was thinking about 2 inch add a leafs in backand crank the t-bar 1.5 inches in the front and then get new 31x10.5 or 32x10.5. ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHT ON THIS??(i do have 4runner sag)

On those tired old springs you do not want to do just a generic AAL, or just shackles... I would do one of 3 things, if all you want it to get back to stock height or slightly above.... Custom AAL (alcan or local shop), have local shop rearch OEM springs and add extra leaf, new leafs... that is in the worst to best, not that a custom AAL is bad... Generic AAL's will destroy your OEM leaves, espically ones that old... A shackle will kill them quicker as well...
Look into BJ spacers for the front.. safe effect as tbar crank w/out making the ride harsh...

i have one more question. basically what should i do to my truck? what is the best in the long run? I only want 2-3 inches(my 4runner sags).want is the total price? THANKS AGAIN and sorry if these questions suck but i keep getting such different answers

Do you want to lift it 3", or bring it up 3"?? There is a difference, depending on how much sag you have of about 2-3" in height. Best in the long run will be new springs, they wear out. But if $$ is the concern ask the local spring shop about rearching and adding 1 leaf, and get a cost estimate.

"ReArching"...they take your old leafs and heat/bend them back to get rid of that sag...thats just a VERY BASIC explanation tho...then AAL is added to give you that extra lift...

add a leafs are cheap - but they end to "wear" te OEM spring in a funky manner. That being said I ran them for a few years to get rid of the OEM butt sag...
I used the Rancho dual add a leafs - you take out one leaf and add in tow rancho leafs...
